The National Education Policy of India 2020 (NEP 2020), approved by the Union Cabinet on 29 July 2020, charts a transformative vision for the Indian education system. It replaces the National Policy on Education of 1986 and aims to create an education system deeply rooted in Indian ethos, capable of making India a global knowledge superpower by providing high-quality education to all learners.
The traditional 10+2 schooling system is replaced by a new 5+3+3+4 system aligned with the developmental stages of children.
